Ahhhhh…….. Rest………..
Wednesday, May 5th, 2010 Khori SmithSo this week I learned the importance of rest! The Hard way. Don’t get me wrong I’m a huge proponent of it but lately I’ve lost my way. As you know I love to burn energy, I love to set a fast pace, I love to go, go, go! I know many of you do as well, but recently I was humbled when I hit a wall. A Big one. Fatigue, lack of focus, lack of clarity set in and I wondered why am I soooo tired and confused? Lol.
But thank God that I was reminded of His scriptures and how over and over again we never see Jesus running crazy. He was active no doubt but we never see him setting an insane unsustainable pace. In fact over ten times in the bible in the very hottest parts of ministry, where things are really busy we actually see him do something amazing in the midst of it……. Rest…….. Profound huh? Check out Mark 6:31 or Matthew 14: 22-23 and they tell you all about it. You see Jesus relentlessly taking off for rest no matter what’s going on around him. Great passages, there are even more just like these!
Anyway, I just wanted to encourage any of you that are running hard, please remember to rest. Set a good pace, build regular Sabbaths into your weeks, put your feet up, do nothing, curl up with Jesus and rest…………… And Take it by force if necessary.
Just a reminder friends that there are no Exit events this week. We will be back next week for another exciting time of experiencing God in community and worship! Can’t wait to see you.
Please remember that the Exit 242 Volleyball Tournament is Saturday May 22nd, 2010! ! It’s going to be great! Check out the details!
Please continue to pray for the Restore: Missions trips this summer to the Gulf region and Mexico. Go here if you’d like to get involved!
Lastly make sure you look at the Exit 242 Spring & Summer calendar! We switch things up drastically in the summer so you’ll be lost if you don’t look at it!
Anyway, that’s all for now, see you soon.

What a DAY!
Wednesday, April 21st, 2010 Khori SmithHey Exit 242,
As I look outside at the beautiful day God has given us I’m reminded of Psalm 118, which says “this is the Day that the Lord has made, let us be glad and rejoice IN it!” I want to encourage you and I today to truly as the Psalm says to be glad and rejoice “IN” this day. Let’s not blow through it like any other day or be thinking about what we will do tomorrow. Let us take this day in slow, bask in it and see our purposes in today! Because this is the day He has Made so let us Be glad and rejoice in it. Yeah!

Easter!
Wednesday, March 31st, 2010 Khori Smith
Hey Exit!
Hope all is well with you this week. Hope you are looking forward to Easter, I know I am. As we celebrate Easter, it’s easy to think its all about putting on a nice suit, running around chasing after eggs and eating chocolate rabbits. Yum! But it’s not! It’s about Jesus Christ and what he did on the cross to reconcile man to God. Now that’s something to get excited about! Let’s remember that as we come together with friends and family.
Just to remind you: There will be no Exit events, gathering, nothing, this week. We will begin a series the following week, April 11th, called “Made Whole: The Healings of Jesus”.
Also, don’t forget about “Restore”, Exit 242’s mission to Mississippi and Mexico this summer. It’s 2 different trips in July and August that focused on restoration in these regions. To get more info please contact Kim Becker at kim.becker1@gmail.com.
