We know that God desires wholeness for all of His creation. The word that best captures this idea of wholeness is the Hebrew word “shalom,” meaning “nothing missing, nothing broken.” Unfortunately, sin has ravaged this world, and so brokenness abounds. Matthew 25:31-46 clearly calls the church to provide physical and spiritual food. This is our calling.
At Grace, healing injustice, equipping families and other concerned adults to help children and students realize their God-given potential, and partnering to bring oneness to the broader body of Christ are important commitments to us.
Getting to Zero! That’s our goal. Grace Fellowship Church partners with HopeSprings to equip the church to eradicate HIV in the Baltimore metropolitan area.
HopeSprings‘ vision is: By the power of the Triune God, HopeSprings will restore hope and healing through the eradication of HIV and AIDS and its stigma.
- Raise awareness of HIV and AIDS
- Equip those God has called to serve in eradicating the epidemic regionally and nationally
- Partner with community organizations providing avenues of engagement
HopeSprings’ mission is: To build human resource capacity to raise awareness of HIV and AIDS
HopeSprings has been equipping and engaging volunteers with our partners since November 2006. Our efforts began slowly with just a few volunteers and two churches, but have steadily grown over time. Today we have hundreds of volunteers from a multitude of churches who have been equipped through our training course.

MENTORING & TUTORING CHILDREN
Are you hard-wired by God to care for children who live in incomplete family structures or have experienced difficult life situations? If your answer to the question is yes, Grace Fellowship Church has established a mentoring program. There are opportunities to mentor children right here within the Grace congregation, in the community around Grace, and in Baltimore City that might be just what your looking for.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER: TUTORING
New Song College and Career Center (part of New Song Academy) assists 8th grade graduates with completing high school and applying to college or career programs. Tutors are needed to help with the following: General Math tutor for Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:00-4:45 p.m., Algebra 1 for Tuesdays 4:00-6:00 p.m. and Thursdays 4:00-5:00 p.m.
LIFE COACHES: MENTORING
Do you have a deep desire to mentor a young man without a strong role model in his life? This ministry is the place to find your place in God’s kingdom work. The Life Coaching program matches men with young men from father-absent homes in the Sandtown community of Baltimore City. The program consists of a Thursday breakfast which serves as a time for relationship building. Each Life Coach commits to: attend the Thursday breakfast; pray weekly for your student; and when your student is old enough, help him obtain a driver’s license. This is a significant life-changing experience for both the students and the coaches. Visit www.BaltimoreLifeCoaches.com for more information.

SAINTS FOOTBALL PROGRAM: TUTORING
The Park Heights community in Baltimore City is a neighborhood of broken families and broken dreams. But in the midst of brokenness, hope survives in the form of the Park Heights Saints football team and cheerleading squad. This program targets boys and girls ages 5-15, and using football and cheerleading as vehicles gives these children the opportunity to hear about the love of God, the significance of their lives, and the importance of the decisions they make. In a loving, safe environment, these boys and girls are coached in football and cheerleading, and trained in foundational life skills to better equip them for the future. You don’t have to play football or even like football to be part of this ministry because it’s not solely about football or cheerleading. We have opportunities to get involved as a pray-er, a food provider, a financial sponsor, a mentor, and, oh yes, a coach.
For more information contact Jim Peters to get involved.
PARTNERS FOR TRANSFORMATION
The Holy Spirit is awakening the church towards a deeper level of humility, prayer, and worship. We believe there is only ONE church in Baltimore; the church of Jesus Christ is made up people who are followers of the risen Christ (John 17:23). We are called to lay down the differences that divide us; instead, we want to come together in prayer, worship, and the study of God’s word in order to unleash transformation across the Baltimore Metropolitan Area.
Churches from across the region gather every Wednesday to pray, worship, and read God’s word. For more information you can contact Ben Abell.
