Is my child allowed to bring in his/her iPod, phone, or other electronics?
We do ask that all electronics are kept with parents during the service so children can stay focused, whether that be during the lesson or even during free time while making friends with others. We promise that we provide an environment that is fun, exciting, and inviting even without personal electronics present!
What does a typical Sunday service in the Loft look like?
In the Loft we have fun games and activities available for the first 10 minutes of the service for kids to connect with one another and settle into the room. We then gather the kids together to introduce the topic for the day, experience worship through fun and energetic music where kids can take turns being in the “band”, and then take an offering. We aim to teach the kids about why offering is important and the different ways we can give to others. We continue the morning with a fun group activity that relates to the topic and some kind of introduction to the lesson. We spend the remainder of time in small groups reading from the Bible and discussing the topic or Bible story.
We welcome parents to come and find out first hand what a class is like.
Why is the children’s ministry so strict on having a matching sticker at pick up time?
The safety of all the children and families at Grace is paramount to us. Due to the size of Grace we are not always completely aware of family circumstances having to do with custody issues, extended family or other situations where a child could be picked up from someone who had not dropped a child off. We need to follow our policy to assure that each child returns safely to the correct adult. So we thank you and appreciate your willingness to help us assure their safety.
My child is nervous that they don’t know anyone in the class, how do you help them?
We know that it can be intimidating for a child to enter a new classroom where they may not know anyone. We have very friendly leaders who are more than willing to help your child acclimate to the classroom. Please feel free to tell our leaders how your child is feeling and I’m sure they will take them in under their wing! We also encourage regular attending children to welcome new kids.
If my child brings a friend are they allowed to stay together?
We lovingly welcome any friends brought to Grace! And we are very aware that ages may vary among friends, so to allow guests to have as much fun as possible, we absolutely permit the children to stay together. If a friend becomes a regular attender we will then help them acclimate into the appropriate age group for them.
How do I find out about special events?
We often will hand out information cards, flyers, etc. at the end of the service that your child can take home. We also communicate through emails, newsletters and all our events are posted on the website here.
