We love our children and our grandchildren. We very often tell them that we are “for them”. This is a picture of the Christmas story. Christ came down to be with us and to bring us salvation. He is with us because he is for us.
If you are really for someone, you stick around even when things get messy…so you can be for them. Sin is a resistence to got. It is our choosing our will over God’s will. God is not for sin, but he is for us. God came in the person of Jesus to confront the brokenness of our lives. He came down to be with us to rescue us from our sins.
God wants us to face our brokenness and to walk in His truth and grace. He wants us to surrender to Him and accept His gift of salvation.
Jesus can’t wait to live His life with us. We only need to invite Him into our hearts.
