God desires that we would be broken before Him as David wrote in Psalm 51, “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.” David speaks from a state of brokenness, understanding his sin and its impact on his relationship with God. As we come face to face with a holy and loving God, what is the appropriate response we should have?

Our “job description” is to continue to grow which occurs in two dimensions: One where it’s about me - learning how to assert my will to get what I want. The other dimension says I am here on earth for this defined period of time and belong to someone else. Therefore, it is not about me, but to whom I belong that guides my life and helps me to understand the Kingdom that Jesus describes. It is not what the Kingdom of God is like, but what the kingdom of God is. What does that mean in the present and the future?
